Biggs Approves of Placing Migrants in Military Bases, Condemns Calls for ICE Agents to Unmask

Representative Andy Biggs (R-AZ) expressed approval for using military bases as detention centers for illegal aliens and condemned calls for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers to unmask in a recent appearance on Fox News.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth recently announced that Camp Atterbury in Indiana and Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst in New Jersey will be used as detention centers for illegal aliens, which drew opposition from Democrats, some of whom claimed it would interfere with military operations.

Rep. Biggs, however, said he was "very comfortable" with the idea, pointing out that "these bases housed Afghan refugees," referring to those brought over after the 2021 withdrawal, which he said "worked out pretty well."

"Not only that, we have to house people," Rep. Biggs continued. "That is the law that the Biden Administration got around. If you are an illegal alien and you are arrested in the United States, you are supposed to be detained until your status is determined, so I am comfortable with it."

Host Rich Edson asked the Arizona Congressman if he approved of more bases being used to house aliens, given the billions in funds going toward mass deportations, which Biggs affirmed, saying, "because the federal government right now is trying to find land to put these soft-sided facilities on the basis that some of the bases have a lot of vacant land, and if it does not impede on the mission, and I am going to leave that in the hands of Pete Hegseth, then yes, I would be comfortable with that."

The discussion then turned to Democrats' growing calls for ICE agents to conduct operations without masks despite the massive increase in agents' personal information and families being identified online, which in turn has increased attacks and harassment of them and their families.

"Here's the deal: The Democrats have been advocating doxxing and violence against these officers, and these officers have received violence," Biggs responded, adding, "They have also been doxxed. Their families have been doxxed, and when they show up, you know that they are wearing vests that say 'police,' that say 'ICE.' They have their badges displayed, but they are not displaying their faces because that is what the left and the radicals are trying to get at and attack these guys."

"So, for their safety, then yes, I think it is okay to wear the mask, especially since they are wearing the identification showing that they are working as a police agent, either for the federal government or state or local government," Biggs concluded.
