Lake Condemns Hobbs' Veto of Bill Preventing Chinese Land Purchases in Arizona

Special Advisor to the US Agency for Global Media Kari Lake condemned Governor Katie Hobbs' (D-AZ) recent veto of a bill preventing the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) from purchasing land near Arizona military bases in a recent appearance on Fox and Friends, saying the Governor "doesn't give a damn."

As we covered, Gov. Hobbs's rationale for vetoing the bill was that it is "ineffective at counter-espionage and does not directly protect our military assets" and "lacks clear implementation criteria and opens the door to arbitrary enforcement."

"I have my suspicions about her," Lake said in response to the Fox and Friends hosts. "But this was just regular old common sense."

Lake further emphasized her belief that "we should take every square inch of U.S. farmland back from China and not even leave them a single blade of grass," further accusing Gov. Hobbs of being "disingenuous" about the bill because "it went through a bipartisan amendment process, like all of them do, where if she wanted to influence it and influence the outcome, she could have. That is called leadership, but she does not give a damn that Arizona could be compromised on her watch."

The Fox and Friends hosts asked Lake if she believed the Arizona State Legislature could potentially override Hobbs's veto, of which she expressed uncertainty.

"I do not know if we could muster up enough Democrat votes," Lake answered, adding, "I do not want to get Democrat or Republican right now, but my thoughts are: You are either pro-America and for America, or you are working against our national security interests, and I am not sure they could muster up enough Democrat votes to do that, unfortunately."

The discussion concluded with an examination of how Arizona voters responded to Hobbs's veto.

"You have to remember we have been through a couple of years of living hell with [Hobbs] sitting in the Governor's office," Lake answered bluntly. "Everything that she has done has been disastrous," she continued, adding, "So I do not think that people are surprised by this, but what is surprising is how it could put our whole country at risk."
