Hamadeh Releases Statement Mourning Boulder Victim's Death

Representative Abe Hamadeh (R-AZ) issued a statement mourning the death of Karen Diamond, one of the victims of the Boulder, Colorado, terror attack earlier this month, on X (formerly Twitter).

"Congressman Hamadeh is saddened to hear that 82-year-old Karen Diamond has succumbed to her wounds inflicted upon her by Mohamed Soliman during his antisemitic terrorist attack in Boulder, Colorado, earlier this month," said Rep. Hamadeh, adding, "May her memory be a blessing."

Diamond, 82, was a participant in a pro-Israel demonstration in Boulder at the beginning of June when Soliman approached the attendants and hurled Molotov cocktails at them while shouting "Free Palestine!"

Diamond was severely injured, and her death was announced Monday afternoon.

"This horrific attack has now claimed the life of an innocent person who was beloved by her family and friends," said Boulder District Attorney Michael Dougherty in a statement.

Similarly, Colorado Governor Jared Polis (D-CO) said Diamond's passing was "deeply felt by the Boulder community and our entire state, particularly within our strong Jewish community."

The June attack was a significant inspiration for Senator Ruben Gallego's (D-AZ) Holocaust Education and Antisemitism Lessons (HEAL) Act, which directs the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum (USHMM) to conduct a study on Holocaust education nationwide to improve teaching on genocide and antisemitism as a whole.

Later in June, during the so-called "Twelve Day War" between Israel and Iran, Rep. Hamadeh warned of possible Iranian sleeper cells operating in the United States, claiming 1,200 Iranian nationals were allowed into the country thanks to the Biden Administration's border policies.

"Iranian sleeper cells are a real concern," the Arizona Congressman said on X, adding, "But so is the risk posed by every unvetted illegal immigrant Biden allowed to enter our country. Congress must support @ICEgov & its mission & pass the Big, Beautiful Bill to fund @POTUS's mass-deportation agenda."
