Who is Endorsing Kolodin for Secretary of State?

State Representative Alexander Kolodin (R-3) is running for Arizona Secretary of State and has built up a strong coalition of supporters in the State House for his election.

Rep. Kolodin announced his campaign at the end of March, vowing to make the Grand Canyon State's electoral system more transparent.

The announcement was quickly met with controversy, as his video features Arizona Republican Party Chair Gina Swoboda, claiming she had endorsed Rep. Kolodin for State Secretary, which Swoboda denied.

"What I have said is that if he is the Republican Party nominee, I will absolutely endorse him in my role as party chairman," Swoboda told NBC 12 Arizona shortly after the northeastern Maricopa County Representative's announcement.

In other words, she will endorse him if he wins the primary but is not endorsing him in the primary election itself.

Nevertheless, Kolodin has quickly proven popular with other members of the Arizona State Legislature and at least one Congressman, as his X (formerly Twitter) feed suggests.

On April 3rd, one of the first major figures to endorse Kolodin was Representative Paul Gosar (R-AZ), who represents Arizona's 9th Congressional District in Washington.

"As a proven conservative fighter, experienced election litigator, and fearless advocate for secure, transparent, lawful elections for every voter, Alex Kolodin is the right person to be our next Arizona Secretary of State," said Rep. Gosar. "Failure is not an option in 2026. We must elect Alex Kolodin to fire Adrian Fontes once and for all."

The following day, Yuma County Recorder David Lara tipped his hat to Kolodin, and less than a week later, State Senator Jake Hoffman (R-15) signaled his own support.

"Alex Kolodin is the fiercest advocate for free, fair, and secure elections in Arizona," said Sen. Hoffman, adding, "He has an indisputable track record fighting the corruption and mismanagement of failed election officials like Adrian Fontes, and has shown he's willing to do what's right above all else — no matter the personal cost. Alex is exactly who Arizona needs as our next Secretary of State. He has my full and total endorsement."

State Representatives Justin Olson (R-10), Rachel Keshel (R-17), and David Marshall (R-7) endorsed Kolodin as April concluded, and former Representative Nancy Barto (R-15) marked his first endorsement for May on Saturday.

"I am proud to endorse Alexander Kolodin for Arizona Secretary of State," said former Rep. Barto. "This office calls for a chief elections officer who is committed to upholding the rule of law and protecting the constitutional rights of all Arizonans. Alexander has consistently demonstrated that commitment throughout his service in the Arizona House of Representatives, plus his legal expertise and principled leadership make him uniquely qualified to ensure that every legal vote is counted and that our elections remain free and fair."
