President Donald Trump
President Donald Trump recently warned Ansarallah, also known as the Houthis, that his administration will continue striking their military assets until they cease their aggressive behavior.
The Houthis, an Iran-backed Yemeni terror group, have been targeting US, Israeli, and allies’ ships since Hamas’ October 7th, 2023 attacks.
Houthi forces executed daily drone and missile attacks against US military and commercial ships and increasingly directly attacked Israel’s civilian population.
During former President Joe Biden’s administration, it is estimated the Houthis attacked US military and commercial ships over 300 times.
President Biden had been criticized for refusing to harness America’s full military might to deter Houthi attacks.
In early March, President Trump ordered a military operation to inflict severe damage on the Houthis military capabilities.
Since then, American and allied forces have completed daily airstrikes on key Houthi leadership and military sites.
According to Israeli reports, the US’ anti-Houthi campaign has diminished the Houthis’ military capabilities but not completely eradicated them.
The reports were legitimized by recent Houthi missile launches targeting Israeli civilian populations.
Trump pledged to continue striking the Houthis lest they cease their hostile activity.
“The choice for the Houthis is clear: Stop shooting at U.S. ships, and we will stop shooting at you,” warned Trump. “Otherwise, we have only just begun, and the real pain is yet to come, for both the Houthis and their sponsors in Iran.”
Iran’s network of Islamic terrorist groups throughout the Middle East, colloquially known as Iran’s axis of evil, includes groups such as Hamas, Hezbollah, Houthis, and ISIS.
Following Hamas’ brutal October 7th attacks, Hezbollah and the Houthis began simultaneously attacking Israel through the north and the east.
The Trump administration has vowed to pursue a ‘maximum pressure’ campaign against Iran and all its proxies, leveraging diplomatic, financial, and military tools to dissuade them from destabilizing activity.
