Hamadeh Commends Trump and Blasts Biden, Democrats for Border Crisis

Representative Abe Hamadeh (R-AZ) spoke during a House Republican press conference about the border, commending President Donald Trump's actions while condemning those of President Joe Biden and Democrats and pushing for the passage of Representative Juan Ciscomani's (R-AZ) Agent Raul Gonzalez Officer Safety Act.

Posting the clip to X (formerly Twitter), Rep. Hamadeh said, "This morning, Congressman Hamadeh addressed the media alongside the House Leadership team. The Representative's remarks focused on the need to pass H.R.5585 - Agent Raul Gonzalez Officer Safety Act, legislation he co-sponsored, along with additional measures to fight the cartels and end the invasion along America's southern border. "The American people are demanding action on the crisis we inherited. And that is exactly what House Republicans are doing to fix it."

Within the clip, Rep. Hamadeh praised House Republican leadership for focusing on the border, adding that as a former Army Captain and prosecutor, "I know that keeping our community safe is the number one priority of the Republican majority."

From there, the Arizona Congressman described how "under the Biden Administration, we hit catastrophic numbers, nearly 3 million border crossings in 2024 alone, bringing over 11 million encounters when Biden took office. That is more than the entire population of Minnesota and Louisiana combined."

However, once Trump returned to office, Hamadeh said encounters decreased by 95%, demonstrating how "it is amazing what strong and tough leadership actually does, what following the law does, and that is what the Republican majority is committed to doing."

The Arizona Congressman pushed for Rep. Ciscomani's Agent Raul Gonzalez Officer Safety Act, saying that "these high-speed pursuits are not merely statistics. Criminal illegal aliens are putting our communities and law enforcement officers at risk every single day, and now, with President Trump's designation of the cartels as a foreign terrorist organization on January 20th, we finally have the tools to treat these barbarians like the terrorists they are."

As a result, because the Agent Raul Gonzalez Officer Safety Act passed the House last year, Hamadeh predicted more Democrats would support passing it again because "the Democrats got shellacked on November 5th, and now they want to stay relevant, so they are trying to act a little bit more moderate than they truly are."

"But we have seen under their direct leadership that they created this border crisis, and for too long, so many in the media try to paint it as 'Republicans are being racist by calling it an invasion.' We understand that it was an invasion, and that is exactly why President Trump and this Republican majority are focused on fixing it very quickly," Hamadeh concluded.
