Crane, Hamadeh Condemn Trump Sentencing

Representatives Eli Crane (R-AZ) and Abe Hamadeh (R-AZ) expressed disappointment and disgust with President-elect Donald Trump's sentencing on X (formerly Twitter).

While the sentence amounted to an "unconditional discharge," which basically rules the May 31st conviction on all 34 felony charges in Trump's "hush money" case involving former adult film actress Stormy Daniels valid without punishment, Republicans have strongly condemned the case as a political witch hunt.

Rep. Crane expressed such a sentiment in his post reacting to the sentencing, saying, "Today's "sentencing" of President Trump is a joke. Democrats should give up on their Trump Derangement Syndrome and join us in pursuing policies that help We the People. Just ten days until we are fully back."

Rep. Hamadeh replied to a former Chief Counsel for Nominations, Mike Davis post, who initially said, "Dear America: After today's sentencing, you should have no confidence or respect for our legal system. It's a joke. These judges are clowns."

In his reply, Hamadeh compared Trump's sentencing to his legal battles. He had alleged that his 2022 election loss against Kris Mayes (D) for Arizona Attorney General resulted from miscalculating votes.

Despite his efforts, Hamadeh's case has been dismissed four times.

As a result, he called Davis's observation "very true" and added, "And Arizona's Supreme Court destroyed any confidence that I once had that the law was neutral and fair. I will always remember what they did, and it only made me stronger and tougher. Corruption must be rooted out completely."

President-elect Donald Trump has vowed to appeal his sentencing, saying in a lengthy Truth Social post, "For the sake and sanctity of the Presidency, I will be appealing this case, and am confident that JUSTICE WILL PREVAIL. The pathetic, dying remnants of the Witch Hunts against me will not distract us as we unite and MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"
