A new Times/Siena poll shows President Donald Trump (R) leading Vice President Kamala Harris (D) in three battleground states. Arizona, Georgia, and North Carolina appear to be favoring President Trump over the incumbent vice president. Despite earlier polls indicating that Vice President Harris had a stronger debate performance, the 2024 presidential election proceeds as a neck-and-neck bout.
The new poll shows President Trump in the lead in Arizona with 50% support against Vice President Harris’ 45%. In Georgia, he leads with 49% against her 45%. In North Carolina, he leads with 49% against her 45% of support.
The poll was conducted between September 17th and September 21st.
In the 2020 presidential election, Arizona and Georgia voted for President Joe Biden (D), but President Trump carried North Carolina. This time around, the former president has the largest lead in Arizona compared to the other two states.
The likelihood of another presidential debate is slim to none as President Trump has already indicated that he will not take part in one. Declaring himself the winner of both debates – the first against President Biden – President Trump appears to now be fully focused on campaigning.
In recent weeks, Vice President Harris has picked up significant celebrity endorsements, which has drawn criticism even from celebrities. However, President Trump is countering by boasting endorsements from Democrats.
Mayor Amer Ghalib, the Mayor of Hamtramck City, Michigan, announced on Facebook over the weekend that he would be voting for the former president despite noting that he and President Trump “may not agree on everything.”
Calling President Trump a “man of principle,” Mayor Ghalib noted that “he is the right choice for this critical time.”
The mayor added that, regardless of the outcome, he would “not regret” his choice. “Now, let the Caravan begin its journey. This is just the beginning,” Mayor Ghalib wrote.
President Trump shared Mayor Ghalib's endorsement on his Truth social account.
