Rep. Andy Biggs
House Oversight recently held a hearing with Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chair Brendan Carr and others to highlight the various failures of the Biden-Harris Administration. Representative Andy Biggs (R-FL) focused on the border crisis with Center of Immigration Studies Executive Director Mark Krikorian, affirming the massive numbers of illegal aliens allowed into the country.
"I want you to let me know if these [numbers] are accurate [and] in the ballpark: 8 million illegal alien encounters by [Customs and Border Protection] during the Biden-Harris regime," Rep. Biggs began.
Director Krikorian replied that the estimate was based solely on the southern border; when combined with the northern border, the number jumps to more than 10 million.
Rep. Biggs continued rattling off numbers, including approximately 5.6 million illegal aliens released into the county, an estimated 1.9 million gotaways, and over 600,000 criminally convicted or pending conviction aliens allowed into the country.
"In 2021, the administration tapped Vice President Harris to serve as the administration's "border czar." That is not my title, not a title manufactured by Republicans," the Arizona Congressman continued, entering an article into the title about VP Harris visiting Mexico and Guatemala to address the root causes of illegal immigration. However, Biggs did not specify the source.
Additionally, Biggs addressed claims the Border Patrol Union endorsed the heavily savaged bipartisan border bill introduced at the beginning of the year, noting that union chief Brandon Judd demanded President Biden quit saying the organization supported the bill.
Moreover, the Arizona Congressman pointed out that the Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela program (CHNV) was briefly suspended after two weeks due to widespread fraud, which Krikorian explained as "multiple fake addresses, fake sponsors, hundreds of people sponsored by the same person."
"I can tell you, folks, [the border] continues to be wide open. And this administration drives that. They are providing every incentive in the world. They love an open border," Biggs concluded.
