Biggs, Crane, Lake Condemn Anti-Trump Rhetoric After Second Assassination Attempt

Former President Donald Trump was nearly assassinated a second time in Palm Beach, Florida, on Sunday. Several Arizona Republicans, including Representatives Andy Biggs (R-AZ), Eli Crane (R-AZ), and Arizona Senate candidate Kari Lake (R), voiced their relief at Trump's safety and condemned the rhetoric of Democrats on X (formerly Twitter) in response.

Rep. Biggs' statement was the simplest, calling for God to continue protecting the former President and his family.

Rep. Crane noted that former Secret Service agent and conservative commentator Dan Bongino had previously suggested the Butler, Pennsylvania, shooting in July would not be the last time Trump would be targeted for assassination.

".@dbongino called it. Thankful @realDonaldTrump is safe once again," Rep. Crane tweeted.

A short time later, the former Navy SEAL condemned the anti-Trump rhetoric that has been calling him a "threat to democracy," suggesting it could have incited the recent attempts on Trump's life.

"About now would be a good time for folks to stop calling anything they don't agree with a "threat to democracy," Rep. Crane added, with a third tweet further expressing frustration at the continued lack of information surrounding the July shooting, calling it "appalling."

"It's appalling that there was a second assassination attempt before there was any real change or accountability in response to the first one," the Arizona Congressman continued.

Kari Lake's statement expressed relief at Trump's survival and called for unity after the attack, saying, "It's time we unite as Americans and restore Trump to the Oval Office and sanity back to the world."

"I am relieved to hear that President Trump is alive and well following a reported second attempt on his life. I pray for comfort for him and his family in the wake of this attempted assassination and an end to the demonization of a good man and his movement. It's time we unite as Americans and restore Trump to the Oval Office and sanity back to the world," Lake's full tweet read.
