Lake Scores Major Endorsements in Senate Race

Over the weekend, Kari Lake's (R) campaign for Senate in the 2024 Election received a significant boost, gaining the endorsement of Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL), the third in a hat trick of endorsements from vital Republican figures in the past two weeks.

"Kari Lake is the proven fighter we need in the Senate to secure the border, grow our economy, lower the cost of living, and push pro-family policies. I am proud to endorse her for Senate in Arizona. Her opponent votes with Kamala Harris 100 percent of the time. Kari will be a strong voice for all Arizonans," Sen. Rubio told the New York Post Saturday.

Lake said she was "honored" to receive the Florida Senator's backing and expressed eagerness to work with him in the Senate upon assuming office.

"He has fought for the American Dream, the family, and our national security. I look forward to working with him in the Senate to get our country back on track," the Arizona Senate candidate said.

Shortly after Lake secured the Republican nomination in the primary, defeating Sheriff Mark Lamb with 55.4% of the vote, Lamb endorsed her, telling Arizona 12 News that he would support Lake after the primary. Moreover, he emphasized there was no animosity between them.

"Kari and I are friends, and we said from the beginning, we had a conversation: This was a race about just getting out there to the people of Arizona, and they have made their decision. That is why I respect the way she treated me and I treated her with the same respect, and we will continue to be friends," said Sheriff Lamb, emphasizing the mutual respect and camaraderie between them.

The day after Lake's primary victory, she received the endorsement of her one-time rival, Karrin Taylor Robson, who ran against Lake as a Republican in the 2022 gubernatorial election. The Hill noted that despite the heated nature of their primary, Robson's statement in support of Lake similarly let bygones be bygones as the country's fate hangs in the balance.

"It is essential that we hold on to the Republican majorities in our state legislature. With Katie Hobbs in the Governor's office, we cannot allow a Democratic majority in the legislature to pass a wish list of progressive policies. Senate nominee Kari Lake, our congressional nominees, and the winners of GOP legislative primaries across the state have my full endorsement," Robson said, highlighting the urgency and significance of the upcoming elections.
