Lake Outlines Border Plans, Calls for Building Wall and Repatriations

During a recent interview with Cactus Politics, Kari Lake (R) discussed the border crisis, and the toll it is taking on everyday Americans Lake accused the Biden Administration of allowing an "invasion" of illegal immigrants to occur and demanding the construction of a border wall and restrictions for claims to asylum within the United States.

Lake recalled that during her run for Arizona Governor in the 2022 midterms, she had "the most bold, aggressive border plan this country had ever seen," which involved allowance of state authorities to defend their borders, which she praised Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R-TX) for doing recently, utilizing the National Guard and Texas Military Department to stop the flow of migrants into Texas.

After all, Article 1, Section 10, Clause 3 of the U.S. Constitution permits states to defend their borders when invaded. However, the Federal Government is required to defend the border per Article 4, Section 4 of the Constitution.

"But [the Biden Administration] are ignoring that they caused the invasion," Lake criticized, a conclusion reached by Florida Representatives such as Carlos Gimenez (R-FL) and Kat Cammack (R-FL), who have alleged the border crisis is intentional.

Because Lake is now running for Senator, she told Cactus Politics that upon assuming office, "we need to immediately fund and speed through construction of the border wall. The entirety of the southern border needs a border wall."

Moreover, the walls must be manned with "Border Patrol, Federal agents, whether it be our military at the border, and stop people from pouring across. We cannot handle this flow of people."

However, Lake clarified that she was not against legal immigration because "those people are vetted," while those illegally crossing the border are not. As a result, Lake also said the country needs to "start with the phony asylum."

The Arizona Senate candidate suggested border crossers are "being coached" in asking for asylum, and thus laws surrounding it must be changed.

"These people are being coached as they are coming across the border. They are being coached to say they want asylum and we need to change our asylum laws," Lake continued.

Finally, Lake also called for mass repatriations of the nearly 10 million illegal border crossers who have entered the country since President Biden assumed office.

"Fund the border wall, stop people from coming across, and immediately start repatriating the people who have poured over during the Biden invasion, repatriating them back to their homeland in order to save our beautiful homeland, the United States," Lake concluded.
