American Lawmakers Demand 'Overwhelming' Military Force Against Iran if They Attack U.S.

Republican lawmakers have long supported U.S. allies across the world.  However, conservative lawmakers have recently taken a more isolationist approach in the wake of the Ukrainian-Russian war.  This new standard could be different when applied to Israel as the only Democratic nation in the Middle East wages war against Islamic terrorism and Iran.

Texas Politics spoke with US Rep. Randy Weber (R-TX) and asked him about the war in Israel  When asked what would cause US involvement in the Israeli conflict that involves other countries such as Iran, Weber stated that a U.S. kinetic engagement should only occur, "If they start sending rockets and missiles into Israel, major concern."

Russia and China are also key players in the Middle East which Rep. Weber also brings up, saying their level of involvement could impact what the United States does in the region.

"I think it is a decision that has to be made, based on all of our allies, what is happening with Israel, are there two fronts, how bad does it get.  We will make a decision based on that," said Weber.

Weber reiterated that the United States already has Israel's back amidst the fight.  Former U.S. Army Brigadier General US Rep. Scott Perry (R-PA), who is also the chair of the House Freedom Caucus, also spoke with Texas Politics regarding potential US involvement in Israel's war against Hamas..

"The United States is present in the region because of our vital interests, and one of those vital interests is our ally, Israel.  That having been said, the United States is not wishing or wanting to provoke anything, but the United States is prepared to, and needs to be prepared to, respond to anything, especially harm to our allies and our own personnel and interests," said Rep. Scott.

Rep. Scott issued what could be taken as a warning to potentially militant groups such as Islamic terrorists or Russia stating,

Rep. Scott Perry

"If Iran, or Iran's proxies, whether its Hamas, Hezbollah, or anybody else, takes aggressive action, they need to be met with an immediate and over whelming response." add Rep. Perry.

Scott further clarified that even warning shots from Iran should result in "overwhelming response."

Florida  Rep. Scott Franklin (R-FL) also chimed in on the conversation, and concurred with Rep. Perry on the US military response.

"If we were attacked directly, vigorously defend ourselves, wherever it comes from.  You can bet we are going to defend ourselves," said Rep. Franklin.

The incursion into Gaza by Israeli forces appears to be imminent.
