During the recent Alabama special Republican senatorial campaign to replace Sen. Jeff Sessions, who was tapped to be U.S. Attorney General by President Trump, the president put his name and political capitol behind Luther Strange.
The “establishment” GOP also backed Strange, but now-embattled Judge Roy Moore, who is being accused of sexual misconduct, defeated Strange and became the Republican nominee in next month’s general election against Liberal Doug Jones.
While he didn’t mention Moore by name, Trump is now tweeting about how important it is for Alabamans to make sure they do not elect “liberal Jones” because it would “be bad.”
Trump called Jones a “disaster” and a “Schumer/Pelosi puppet” that was “WEAK” on several key issues, as well as being bad for gun rights and the military.
