While on "The Today Show" with Matt Lauer, President-elect Donald Trump said he consults with President Barack Obama on some of his potential appointments and he values the President's suggestions.
Trump said:
I take his recommendations very seriously and there are some people that I will be appointing and, in one case, have appointed where he thought very highly of that person.
White House Press Secretary Joe Earnest said on Wednesday there has been "at least a handful" of conversations between the President and Trump but he would not go into detail in regards to what they were about.
On Tuesday, Joe Biden even praised some of Trump's Cabinet selections. He said:
If you look at the people that Donald Trump has named so far, some give me great pause. There's other people he's appointed in the administration that are very solid. So it's just -- I don't think anybody knows for certain, but we have to be vigilant, and when in fact it looks like the administration is moving in the direction that is harmful or dangerous.
The two men are probably not talking about how Trump plans to gut Obamacare and replace it, nor are they talking about how the President-elect thinks the foreign policy of the last 8 years has endangered America and its allies around the world.
