Pearl Harbor Anniversary Always Hits Home In Arizona

The anniversary of the Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1945 was celebrated across the country, but no other place outside of Hawaii does the this anniversary touch more hearts and minds than in Arizona.

The sunken USS Arizona rests below the memorial that bears its name and commemorates what happened on that fateful day that will forever "live in infamy."

The Arizona serves as tomb for 1,102 sailors and marines, and was been designated as a National Historic Landmark on May 5, 1989.

 

Members of Arizona's congressional delegation put partisans politics aside and came together to honor those men and women who died at Pearl Harbor. Gallegos, Kirkpatrick, McCain, Flake, McSally, and others tweeting tribute to the fallen.
