McCain, Gallego and others raised big campaign cash in 2016

Arizonans, as well as the rest of the American population, are still reeling over President-elect Donald Trump’s historic and decisive victory over Hillary Clinton.

Against all odds, Trump pulled off the biggest political upset one all time. We can’t really say the race was a David vs. Goliath duel to the death, but in a way we can.

The Goliath Trump defeated included the entire Obama/Clinton campaign apparatus, huge amounts of “dark” and “soft” money from Soros-type groups, the media, and the establishment wing of the Republican Party.

Oh, in case you missed it, Arizona was finally called for Trump.

So let’s talk campaign cash. There was a lot of campaign dollars raised and spent in the Grand Canyon State.

Like was the case across just about every single state in the union, Arizona’s members of Congress raised and spent a whole lot of campaign donations in their respective efforts to stay in elected office.

Some members raised a lot and won, while others raised very little and still won.

Here are the winners:

U.S. Senate

Senator John McCain (R) -$11,315,066

U.S. House

Rep. Ruben Gallego (D) $1,025,225

Rep. Martha McSally (R) $7,059,681

Rep. Paul Gosar (R) $678,485

Rep. David Schweikert (R) $749,649

Rep. Raul Grijalva (pictured) (D) $605,765

Rep. Krysten Sinema (D) $4,135,490

Rep. Trent Franks (R) $337,934

Rep-Elect Tom O’Halloran (D) $1,349,983

Rep-Elect Andy Biggs (R) $877,621
