Surprisingly enough, Hillary Clinton leads Donald Trump by four percentage points in the latest poll conducted of 587 likely Arizona voters by Arizona Republic/Morrison/Cronkite News.
Considering that Arizona and its 11 electoral votes are seen as being a true “Red State,” these poll results cannot be good for the GOP.
With Hillary Clinton, her daughter Chelsea, and First Lady Michelle Obama, all stumping in Arizona this month, there is no doubt that Democrats believe that they can turn Arizona blue.
But wait, all is not lost for Republicans, as about 21 percent of those polled say they are undecided voters.
Tonight’s third and final presidential debate could be the make-or-break campaign moment for Trump.
His debate performance could sway those undecided voters in his favor, or not.
On the other hand, the poll also shows Senator John McCain (R) clobbering Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick (D) 51.5 percent to 40 percent.
This is very good news for Republicans as McCain’s seat could very well decide the balance of power in the U.S. Both McCain’s and Senator Rubio’s seat in Florida are must-retain seats for Republicans.
Republicans must keep these two seats, if they are to be successful in thwarting any potential Clinton Supreme Court nominees. McCain recently stated that he would do everything in his power to block any Clinton SCOTUS pick.
Once this election is over, the main focus for Arizona Republicans will be Sen. Jeff Flake’s 2018 re-election campaign.
Flake could face a primary challenge from former senatorial candidates Alex Meluskey and Dr. Kelli Ward.
