McCain Releases Ad for Veterans, but Still Faces Shadow

Today, John McCain's Senate campaign released a new ad designed to bolster his record of helping Veterans of the Armed forces. McCain has always positioned himself as a champion of Veterans and Veteran causes, but the shadow of the failures of the Phoenix VA and of his primary campaign still linger.

Besides the massive scandal at the Phoenix VA 2 years ago, it was recently found that most of the problems which McCain sought to address back then have not yet been fixed and Veterans are still dying in Phoenix while waiting for specialized care.

McCain also still faces everything that his primary opponents threw at him during the tough primary election against Dr. Kelli Ward and Businessman Alex Meluskey. For his part, Meluskey went as far as to release an ad which hit McCain directly for ending the searches for Vietnam POWs.

It remains to be seen if Ann Kirkpatrick will attempt to blame John McCain for the failures of the Phoenix VA Healthcare System, or if she will partly take responsibility when the issue comes up at tonight's Senate Debate.
