Domestic Violence Politicized By Anti-Gun Lobby

Arizona Congressman Raul Grijalva (D) recently retweeted Rep. Lois Capps (D-CA) gun control tweet about domestic violence and why abusers shouldn't be allowed "access to firearms."

While most Americans can agree that weapons should be kept of the hands of criminals and domestic violence abusers, how does Capps and Grijalva know who is an abuser, and who isn't?

Unfortunately, domestic violence is an epidemic here in the U.S.

But with that said, is there some list that I don't know about, where domestic violence abusers have to register themselves on?

I see Capps case with those who have already been charge, arrested, or convicted of domestic violence in the past, but who is to say these offenders will repeat their actions?

For example, I have a friend who has a concealed weapons permit and was arrested for domestic violence because his girlfriend at the time got drunk and called police accusing him of pushing her down. Police arrested him because she showed them large bruise on her thigh she said was caused by him pushing her down.

When she sobered up, she recanted , but my friend was still arrested and now has a record of domestic violence. Most convictions and criminal offenses can be expunged from your record except for domestic violence cases. They live with you for the rest of your life.

Should my friend not be allowed "access" to a weapon because a domestic violence case exists on his record?

Food for though for  those in the anti-gun lobby.
