Joseph Chaplik Claims Democrats 'Can't Hide Their Hatred for Americans'

Former State Representative Joseph Chaplik (R-3) is condemning Democrats on social media, accusing them of continually refusing to fund the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), which has resulted in hours-long wait times at airports.

On social media, Right Line News' Eric Daugherty shared a clip from CNN covering lengthy wait times at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Responding to the post, Chaplik wrote, "This is the aim of the obstructionist Democrats in Congress - They want the chaos. They cause the chaos. Then they attempt to blame it on Republicans. They can't hide their hatred for Americans."

In a second post shortly after, the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport posted that Security Checkpoints B and D in Terminal 4 are closed, advising travelers to arrive 2-3 hours earlier to ensure they can board their flights on time.

Chaplik also responded, writing, "The Democrats in D.C. want to make this the new normal."

"Ruining your vacation plans and causing chaos for business travelers is part of taking full control over travel in our country," he continued, adding that "America Last is their new slogan. To everyone being affected at PHX today - I will not stand by in Congress and let this continue."

Chaplik joins other Arizona Republicans in decrying the continued shutdown of DHS, as Representative Juan Ciscomani (R-AZ) previously accused Democrats of "playing political games with our national security." "By refusing to fund DHS, TSA officers are doing their jobs without pay to keep us safe. We should prioritize those who protect us—not play politics," Ciscomani added.

Representative Abe Hamadeh (R-AZ) has been harsher in his response, commenting on the 31st day since the shutdown began with, "Day 31 of Democrats' reckless shutdown crippling @DHSgov operations."

Like Chaplik, Rep. Hamadeh also invoked the TSA lines at airports slowing to a crawl as "ruining family vacations & endangering American lives."

"Gallego, Kelly, & the rest of Schumer's Democrats must stop playing politics with our national security NOW."
