Trump Endorses Mark Lamb in Arizona's 5th District Congressional Race

Former Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb received a significant boost in his campaign for Congress this week when President Donald Trump endorsed him for Arizona's 5th Congressional District seat.

President Donald Trump announced his support on Truth Social, calling Lamb a "MAGA Warrior" and praising his law enforcement background. The President highlighted Lamb's stance on border security, the economy, and support for military veterans and law enforcement officers.

"Mark Lamb has my Complete and Total Endorsement to be the next Congressman from Arizona's 5th Congressional District — HE WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN!" Trump wrote.

Lamb responded to the endorsement on X, expressing gratitude to the President.

"I am truly honored and humbled!" he responded, praising Trump's first nine months in office and his work on border security and the economy.

The congressional seat became open after Representative Andy Biggs announced he would run for governor rather than seek reelection. Lamb, who launched his campaign on October 22, is now considered the frontrunner in the race.

However, he faces competition in the Republican primary from several candidates, including former NFL kicker Jay Feely, former State Representative Travis Grantham, and businessman Daniel Keenan.

Trump's statement mentioned Feely by name, saying he "like[s] Jay Feely very much" and suggested he consider running in a different district or for another office.

In an exclusive interview with Cactus PoliticsStephen Shadegg, director for Americans for Prosperity, commented that Trump's endorsement could significantly impact the race, especially since the Republican primary winner will likely win the general election in this heavily Republican district.

However, Shadegg explained that the endorsement won’t be the deciding factor.

“I’m excited to have his endorsement and with the support of voters in Congressional District 5, We will be in Washington to help him get the job done for the American people,” Lamb concluded.
