Eli Crane Condemns Mark Kelly, Ruben Gallego for Voting No on Continuing Resolution

Representative Eli Crane (R-AZ) condemned Senators Mark Kelly (D-AZ) and Ruben Gallego (D-AZ) for voting against the continuing resolution (CR) and keeping the government shut down for a 14th time.

"If you or anyone you know is impacted by the ongoing government shutdown, I want you to see something," Rep. Crane posted on X. "Today, the Senate voted for the 14th time to end the shutdown. For the 14th time, Senators Kelly and Gallego voted NO. See for yourself," accompanied by footage from a Senate meeting this week.

Rep. Crane has been a fierce critic of Senate Democrats since the government shutdown began in October, predicting that "if Democrats are willing to shut down the government over taxpayer-funded transgender surgeries and healthcare for illegals, they can own the consequences."

In early October, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) earned widespread condemnation from Republicans after suggesting that "every day [of the shutdown] gets better for us." Conservatives overwhelmingly condemned the remarks, accusing Democrats of willfully perpetuating the shutdown to their advantage.

"Senate Democrats are hurting people every day. And they feel increasingly good about it," the Arizona Congressman shared on X.

Near the end of October, Crane pressured Sens. Kelly and Gallego to vote in favor of the CR, noting that "three brave democrats have defied Chuck Schumer and voted to reopen the federal government." "Only five more Senate Democrats are needed to end this harmful shutdown. Mark Kelly and Ruben Gallego have a chance to be two of them. Country over party, right?" he questioned.
