Nogales Police Endorsement Strengthens Robson's Campaign

With the announcement of the Nogales Police Officers Association's (NPOA) support for the Republican candidate, Karrin Taylor Robson has gained yet another important endorsement from law enforcement in her gubernatorial campaign.

The endorsement joins previously announced support from the Combined Law Enforcement Associations of Arizona (CLEAA) and the Tucson Police Officers Association, adding to Robson's growing list of law enforcement supporters. These groups collectively speak for thousands of officers throughout the state.

Karrin Taylor Robson is the only gubernatorial candidate in Arizona to date to obtain endorsements from significant police enforcement organizations, according to her campaign.

"We take to heart your commitment to support law enforcement agencies, understand the dangerousness of the job, and most importantly the sacrifice our families face every time we put on the uniform," wrote NPOA President David Lopez in the endorsement letter. "We strongly believe you are the best choice to be our voice and advocate as our next Governor."

In the run-up to the 2026 election, David Lopez wished Robson well.

Robson thanked the endorsement and emphasized the difficulties that border community law enforcement faces.

"I am honored to have the support of the men and women of the Nogales Police Officers Association," Robson stated. "These officers are heroes who face complex and dangerous challenges every day, especially in our border communities. As Governor, I will work relentlessly to promote law and order, support law enforcement, and Make Arizona Strong Again."

The endorsement aligns with the Nogales Police Department's stated mission "to enhance the quality of life in our city by working in partnership with the community" through "upholding constitutional rights, enforcing the law, preserving peace, and providing a safe environment."

The department emphasizes that "community policing is the key component of a partnership we build with our citizens" and strives "to provide service with respect, integrity, and dedication."

In a recent interview with Cactus Politics, Robson reinforced her commitment to the rule of law, stating simply, "But as Governor, I will follow the law."

During that same interview, Robson outlined additional governance plans, including establishing "a Governor's Office of Congressional Accountability because I don't believe our congressional delegation works like a cohesive unit in the best interests of the state of Arizona."

The endorsement comes as Robson continues to forge partnerships in preparation for the 2026 gubernatorial race, and her campaign strategy seems to be focused on law enforcement support.
