Representative Andy Biggs (R-AZ) suggested extending immunity to several aides of former President Joe Biden to uncover the full extent of the coverup to hide Biden's mental incapacity during his term in a recent appearance on Newsmax's Wake Up America.
Rep. Biggs posted the clip to X (formerly Twitter), saying, "Kevin O'Connor and Anthony Bernal's refusal to answer questions about Joe Biden's mental capacity illustrates a clear, coordinated coverup of the truth. If we immunize them, they can no longer plead the Fifth. If they still refuse to answer? Contempt of Congress."

As the Washington Post described, both Dr. O'Connor and Anthony Bernal, First Lady Jill Biden's chief of staff, refused to testify on the true nature of President Biden's cognitive decline, which resulted in the apparent use of an autopen without the President's knowledge to pass policy.
Within the clip, Rep. Biggs believed their silence is "a coordinated effort, because in the recent weeks, you have got multiple former Biden officials or Democrat officials coming in for multiple committees, and the answer to every question other than 'What is your name?' and how to spell it is 'taking the Fifth.' And I think that that is coordinated."
The host then asked how the investigation could move forward if nobody is willing to speak, and what options existed.
"The next step, in my opinion," the Arizona Congressman answered, "is you offer immunity to certain key individuals. It might be Dr. O'Connor, it might be Bernal, but you are going to offer immunity to them, and then they cannot take the Fifth anymore. It negates the Fifth because they have been offered a different way out."
Moreover, Biggs emphasized that "if they come in again, and they deny or refuse to answer questions, even after you have extended immunity, then you take them into contempt, and you get a federal court to hold them in contempt, and then they either go to jail or answer questions."
