Biasiucci Applauds $50 Million Toyota Investment in Wittmann

State Representative Leo Biasiucci (R-30) applauded automaker Toyota's recent investment in the Arizona Proving Grounds outside the town of Wittmann, saying he "couldn't be prouder."

As Toyota Newsroom described, the company has invested $50 million in expanding the Arizona Mobility Test Center, which first opened in 1993 and has since become an industry-wide testing center, allowing other automakers to use it since 2021.

The facility now features a 5.5-mile track, new terrain and ride-handling sites, and enhanced test sites for driver-assistance technology.

"The new investment in Arizona signals the facility's importance to Toyota," said Toyota North America's Research Vice President Stefan Young, adding, "Site updates make it more attractive as an ideal place for companies to test new vehicle capabilities, including by Toyota for our own North American-developed vehicle line-up, thanks to the new and expanded development capabilities."

State Rep. Biasiucci, who represents the Wittmann area, said in his press release, "This is great news for Wittmann and Arizona. Toyota has been here for decades —but this latest expansion shows they're still growing and betting on our state."

"As Chairman of the House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee and a representative of this community, I couldn't be prouder to see our district playing a key part in shaping the future of automotive technology," the Wittmann representative added.

The auto industry is not the only sector looking to expand in the Grand Canyon State, as in March, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) invested $100 billion to open new facilities in Arizona, safer from the continued threat of China.

Representative Abe Hamadeh (R-AZ) praised the decision during an appearance on Real America's Voice, saying, "President Trump was all over it. And that is what happened when the first phase occurred, and they [TSMC] were putting in about $0 to $60 billion back then, and now it is increasing to an additional $100 billion. That is going to be a huge boon for Arizona's economy and especially for national security."
