Vice President Kamala Harris's (D) recent proposal to introduce price controls has drawn ire from conservatives. Senate candidate for Arizona Kari Lake (R) made one of the boldest criticisms of Harris in a recent appearance on Real America's Voice program Just the News, No Noise, saying, "I believe that Kamala Harris is a communist... I believe she has communist tendencies."
Lake posted the clip to X (formerly Twitter), adding, "The Harris-Walz & Gallego price fixing proposal is straight out of the communist playbook. All it will do is force producers out of the market, cause product shortages, & prices for consumers to rise. In their effort to even the playing field, we're going to end up with scarcity, breadlines straight out of the USSR."

In the clip, Lake further suggested that Americans' lack of economic knowledge has prevented them from seeing the danger of this proposal.
"I wish, frankly, our education system was doing a better job because if they were, everybody would be shocked at her saying that. But unfortunately, we have not educated our children properly enough on the dangers and harm of communism, and that is really what we are heading toward with this," said Lake.
From here, the Arizona Senate candidate made her bold declaration, calling Harris and Representative Ruben Gallego (D-AZ), her rival in the election, communists or at least having "communist tendencies."
"They want us going down the road where we are all impoverished, we are all living poor. They want to turn us into a third-world country, and they want to punish people who work hard. And in an effort to level the playing field, they want to take away from people who are willing to work and what you are going to do is end up with scarcity. We are going to end up with food lines, bread lines, that kind of stuff we saw in Communist Russia, the USSR, and other communist nations," Lake declared.
Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) had also blasted Harris's price control proposal in a recent statement, saying, "Vice President Harris, a person who has never built a business, doesn't understand profit and loss, has never met payrolls, and who has never competed in a consumer market, is going to propose federal price controls. That should terrify every American."
