Lake Signals Support for SAVE Act and Other Election Integrity Measures

Addressing election integrity is paramount as we approach November, especially as the border crisis escalates. House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) and Representative Chip Roy (R-TX) have introduced the SAVE Act to ensure only American citizens can vote in federal elections. During a recent appearance on Fox News's Sunday Morning Futures, Kari Lake (R), a Senate candidate in Arizona, voiced her support for this bill and other election integrity measures.

Lake posted the clip on X (formerly Twitter), saying, "I fully support the SAVE ACT that both @SpeakerJohnson & President Trump have been pushing. We need to contact our members of Congress & politely tell them that they must sign on to that to save & protect our elections. Our vote is sacred. It's the way we decide the trajectory of our country, & that direction must be decided by American citizens."

Host Maria Bartiromo began by asking if Lake believed the Biden Administration was allowing the border crisis to happen to shore up Democratic votes, to which Lake answered, "Absolutely."

"Otherwise, [Democrats] would be working hard to get the SAVE Act through, which will prevent that. Instead, in every state around the country, you are seeing Democrats fight tooth and nail any piece of legislation which will prevent illegals from voting," Lake added.

However, the Arizona Senate candidate clarified that illegal immigrants will not appear at polling places. Instead, they will appear on voter rolls, while someone else will vote by proxy.

"And that is why they are asking [illegals] to register to vote when they get set up for Medicare and Medicaid because they are giving them all of these services," Lake continued.

Rep. Roy explained this in a different discussion with Bartiromo, saying, "You just saw recently the news out of South Carolina where their own Health and Human Services, South Carolina HHS, confirmed that they are basically having to follow federal law to give registration forms to people when they come to get their welfare or to come get Medicaid when they're here illegally."

As a result, Bartiromo asked Lake if she believed the 2024 Election in November would be fair. Lake replied that she was not confident in the integrity of the election if it were held today. "But I know we have a lot of people, including myself, fighting to improve the laws and make sure they are following the laws."
