Lake Closing in on Gallego in Latest Poll Numbers

In the latest news from the Arizona 2024 Senate Election this November, new polls indicate that Kari Lake (R) is making significant strides, closing in on Representative Ruben Gallego (D-AZ) in the poll numbers as we progress into May.

The latest poll from Emerson College, taken on April 29th, shows Lake almost neck-and-neck with Rep. Gallego. He barely maintains a two-point lead of 45% to Lake's 43%.

Such a narrowing gap is a marked difference from the RABA Research poll taken in mid-April, placing Lake at approximately eight points behind Rep. Gallego, even as the Arizona Supreme Court's upholding of an 1864 near-total abortion ban kept their poll numbers relatively constant.

Nevertheless, RABA Research's poll and the most recent Emerson College poll combined still have the Arizona Congressman an average of about five points ahead of Lake as calculated by 270 to Win. However, this is one point less than when Gallego's average was six points ahead.

The Lake campaign is keenly aware of the shifting dynamics. The Kari Lake War Room on X (formerly Twitter) has been quick to highlight Gallego's narrowing lead over Lake in a May 1st post. They confidently state, "Radical @RubenGallego has already spent $7 million trying to reinvent himself on TV. It hasn't worked at all. He's not fooling anyone. "Kari Lake, Ruben Gallego Statistically Tied in First Poll of Arizona U.S. Senate Race Since Abortion Law Decision."

Shortly after the April 29th poll was released, former President Donald Trump released a video in support of Lake, which her campaign reposted to X.

Former President Trump called Lake "a hard worker, and she loves the state [of Arizona]. She loves our country" and bashed Gallego as an "ultra left-wing extremist" who was "the worst."

Moreover, Trump called the 2024 Election "the most important election in the history of our country," and Arizona is "one of the most critical battlegrounds" for it.

As a result, he urged his base, "From now until November, we need each and every one of you to pour your heart and your soul into helping achieve a glorious victory in Arizona."
