Arizona Congressman Eli Crane (R) spoke to Cactus Politics about the House Democratic plan to prevent President Donald Trump from holding office again.
Rep. Crane didn't hesitate to share his thoughts when speaking about the attacks Trump has faced, specifically in the U.S. court system.
“It’s about trying to do anything and everything to keep him off the ballot, and to make sure that he never takes the reins of this country back over again as President of the United States,” said Rep. Crane.
When asked about the U.S. Court of Appeals rejecting Trump’s claim of presidential immunity, Crane said, “I’m not surprised ... I wouldn’t be surprised when rulings don’t go his way.”
The congressman from Arizona’s 2nd congressional district spoke on Georgia DA Fani Willis, citing that the entire situation has been “a complete debacle.” Willis recently brought an election interference case against Trump in the state of Georgia, however, after her affair with special prosecutor Nathan Wade, there have many calls for her to be disqualified from the case.
Despite Trump’s legal battles, Crane has confidence in Trump. The Arizona Republican noted, “At the end of the day, light always comes before darkness, and I have faith in President Trump.”
He finished his statement by highlighting, “No matter what happens in the courtroom … the American people don’t buy any of it.”
Rep. Crane is currently cosponsoring a resolution in the House of Representatives that states, “President Donald J. Trump did not engage in insurrection or rebellion against the United States, or give aid or comfort to the enemies thereof.”
