Lake Calls for AZ GOP Chair's Resignation After Audio Leak

Evidently, people within the Arizona Republican Party want to prevent Kari Lake from becoming Senator. Leaked audio suggested Jeff DeWit, chair of the Arizona GOP, attempted to bribe Lake into not running for office, prompting her to call for his resignation while celebrating Donald Trump's New Hampshire primary victory.

"He’s gotta resign. We cannot have somebody who is corrupt and compromised running the Republican Party," Lake told an NBC reporter Tuesday evening. However, she did not name a specific person in mind to replace DeWit other than she wanted to "make sure we get the corrupt people out."

Earlier, the Daily Mail uncovered the audio in which DeWit tried to convince Lake to "take a pause for a couple of years" because "there are very powerful people who want to keep you out."

The Senatorial candidate flatly rebuked DeWit's offer, saying she cannot be bought, even for one billion dollars. DeWit can be heard rationalizing the offer by saying, "I am not even sure Trump can win again," and the ability to raise money.

"This is not about money, this is about the country," she added, calling the fact that she was even being offered "disturbing."

"I am not going to let these people who hate our f*****g country tell me not to run," Lake continued in the recording, further suggesting, "they are going to try to have me murdered," should her campaign continue.

Such an attitude was reflected in a recent address to supporters of Donald Trump in New Hampshire, calling the upcoming Presidential election "a live-free-or-die election," and calling herself "the most MAGA candidate running for Senate in the country…. I just love my country, and I love my kids. I worry about their future, and I know that we can see our best days ahead of us."

Lake's enthusiasm for Trump and that of his supporters was recently suggested by Representative Mike Waltz (R-FL) as being what will allow the former President to take back the White House in November, rather than attempts to persuade moderates.
