Two-State Solution Opposed by Most Palestinians

The anticipated Hamas hostage exchange operation has begun to unfold as the first Israeli hostages released by Hamas are rushed to Israeli hospitals and reunited with their families.  The hostage exchange deal comes after Hamas terrorists seeped into Israel on October 7th and murdered and kidnapped hundreds of Israeli civilians. A two-state solution between Israel and the Palestinians does not seem attainable right now.

President Joe Biden gave a televised address today, November 24th, expressing gratitude at the exchange operation commencing.

“This morning I've been engaged with my team as we began the first difficult days of implementing this deal. It's only a start, but so far it's gone well,” said President Biden per CNN.

Biden also remarked how, in his view, the exchange deal could mark the beginning of the end of the current Israel-Hamas war and the first step towards a 2-state solution.

“As we look to the future, we have to end this cycle of violence in the Middle East. We need to renew our resolve to pursue this two-state solution where Israelis and Palestinians can one-day live side by side,” said Biden.

However, Biden’s hopes for a 2-state solution is not reflective of an overwhelming majority of Palestinian's hopes for the future of Palestine.

As reported by a new poll of the Arab World for Research and Development (AWRAD), a whopping 3/4ths majority of Palestinians from both Gaza and the West-bank reject such a solution.

According to AWRAD, 74.7% of Palestinians wish to see the reinstatement of Palestine ‘from the river to the sea’, i.e., the eradication of the state of Israel

Additionally, a shocking 75% of Palestinians noted their support for Hamas’ brutalization of innocent Israelis on October 7th.

Biden’s hopes for a US-led 2-state solution may also be frustrated by a 98% Palestinian disapproval rating towards the US’s involvement in the Israeli-Hamas war.
