New Poll of Swing States, Young and Black Voters is Devastating to Biden

The latest public opinion polls look grim for President Biden (D), and more polls from the New York Times show former President Donald Trump (R) leading Biden in crucial swing states that Biden took back in 2020.

Donald Trump left Hillary Clinton (D) in the dust in 2016 and went on to victory in the Electoral College count.  Trump lost the popular vote, but managed to win swing states and deep blue states like Pennsylvania and Michigan to defeat Hillary Clinton.

2016 shifted many solid Liberal states into the swing state category, and now this looks to be case in 2024 as Trump now leads Biden in those exact same states.  According to the New York Times, President Trump is leading Biden in Nevada, Michigan, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Arizona, and losing by 2% in Wisconsin.

Aside from Nevada, Trump won all of these states in 2016 and lost all of them in 2020.  Surprisingly, the state that never voted for Trump shows the former president's largest lead by almost 10%.

The poll was conducted by the New York Times and Sienna University, with a majority of voters citing President Biden's policies as having personally impacted them adversely.  The most shocking however is not states, but age groups, with voters under 30 years old favoring Biden by only 1%.

Black support for former President Trump has hit 22% support in these battleground states, a historic level of African American support for a Republican presidential candidate in recent history.  The New York Times even suggested that the poll showed Biden struggles to do well in more diverse states, as evidenced by the poll.

While Trump may be embattled in controversy, even being arrested, this is seemingly not enough to deflate his eventual brawl against Biden in 2024.  Perhaps the recent drama surrounding the celebrity and former president is doing him more of a service than harm.
