Sinema May Be Gearing Up For 2018 Senate Run

While she does lean pretty far to the left, Congresswoman Kirsten Sinema is not a true blue liberal Democrat like her colleagues Reps Raul Grijalva and Ruben Gallego.

Sinema, who supports Obamacare, considers herself pro-Choice, and is in favor of amnesty for illegal immigrations, appears to be "moderating" herself leading up to the 2018 mid-term elections.

The ink of the  2016 general election hasn't even dried yet and politicians around the country are already angling to run for reelection or for higher office in 2018.

Sinema could be one of those elected officials looking to climb up the political ladder in 2018, as a weakened Senator Jeff Flake (R) is up for reelection.

We say Flake is weakened because of the negative polling he has received over his support of the "Gang of 8" Senate immigration bill of 2013, and because of the disdain he showed towards President-elect Donald Trump leading up to election night.

Flake's reelection to the U.S. Senate is not guaranteed, not by a long shot.

Rumor is that Sinema eyeing a run of the U.S. Senate in 2018.

Back to Sinema.

While her past voting record shows that she is a card-carrying member of Democratic Caucus in the House, Sinema has been sounding more and more like a Republican than a Democrat

From praising the military and veterans at every turn, not to mention voting to go after sponsors of terrorism, Sinema has now voting in favor of a very, very Republican initiative of blocking the pay raises of members of the U.S. Congress.

Regardless of whether or not she continues going down that centrist road, Sinema's voting record will always follow closely behind. If she runs for the Senate, Flake & Co. will have tremendous political ammunition to expend on her.

Flake must first get by his primary election. Former Senatorial candidate Kelly Ward has already announced that she will take a run at Flake.
