Just about anyone President-elect Donald Trump nominates to join his administration will be met unprecedented opposition by Democratic Party detractors.

The latest Trump nominee that has been targeted for demise is Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt, who has been picked to lead the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Democrats are trying to paint Pruitt as being someone who kills puppies, pours oil on Tweety Bird, and douses you front lawns with bleach.

Democrats are critical of Pruitt because he and other states Attorney Generals, have challenged  EPA’s over reaches against the energy industry, as well as all other industries the government agency has laid eyes on.

Does Texas have a constitutional right to defy Supreme Court on protecting its border?

Rep. Nancy Pelosi, who is the House minority leader, recently said that Pruitt’s nomination needed to be blocked "for the sake of the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the planet we will leave our children.”

As you can imagine, there is no shortage of Pelosi-types who have a similar views about Pruitt.

Arizona’s most liberal member of the House, Rep. Raul Grijalva (D) went as far as to accuse Pruitt of putting Oklahomans at risk, saying that he “endangered people in his own state with unregulated fracking.”

Here is Grijalva’s entire Facebook statement on Pruitt:

"Scott Pruitt’s actions as attorney general of Oklahoma have proven him to be a loyal lap dog for industry, and that alone should disqualify him from serving as EPA administrator. EPA’s stated mission is to protect the public health of the American people, but it’s easy to see that the mission statement won’t mean much in the new administration. Elevating someone to national leadership who endangered people in his own state with unregulated fracking jeopardizes the public health at large, and will facilitate Republican efforts to unravel benchmark protections like the Clean Air and Water Acts and much more. While I’m sure this nomination will make Big Oil happy, the American people are right to be alarmed."-Rep. Raul Grijalva

Grijalva’s fellow Arizonan, Rep. Paul Gosar (R), disagrees with the criticisms made against Pruitt, saying that he was instead “incredibly pleased” with Trump’s choice to head the EPA.

"If far-left environmentalists are freaking out over Trump's pick to lead the EPA... you know he is doing something right.

I'm incredibly pleased with President-elect Trump’s pick to lead the EPA, Scott Pruitt. As Attorney General of Oklahoma, Pruitt has been on the front lines of some of the most important issues facing the country and Arizona including leading the fight against the unlawful Waters of the U.S. rule and Clean Power Plan regulations. It is long past time for a balanced and commonsense approach to environmental regulations and I am confident that Scott Pruitt is the best leader for the job."-Rep. Paul Gosar (R) on Facebook
