Incoming Arizona Senate President, Republican Steve Yarbrough has announced the committee assingments for the upcoming 53rd legislature. Not much has changed from last year's assignments, but there are a few notable postings.
Rising GOP star and LD23 Senator Steve Montenegro scored the Vice-chairmanship of the always controversial and potentially toxic Education committee as well as spots on appropriations and Health and human services, three committees which would serve him well on a resume for a federal position.
LD21 Senator Debbie Lesko will chair the appropriations committee, and Senator President Steve Yarbrough appointed himself to chair the powerful rules committee. Below are all of the committee assignments.
