Donald Trump/ Shark Tank Media
Washington, D.C. -Rep. Carlos Curbelo sat down with the Shark Tank to discuss the American people's decision in last week's Presidential election that resulted in Donald Trump beating Hillary Clinton in what was largely seen by mainstream media political pundits as an upset win.
Curbelo, a critic of Donald Trump who didn't endorse Trump, commented that “with this election, the American people have put the ultimate pragmatist in the White House, someone who wants to get things done, someone who I haven’t agreed with all the time.” He added that this was done because "the American people want us to not take these rigid ideological positions and run to our corners and hurl insults at each other. They want us to work together and to get things done."
Curbelo also commented on the current Democratic party's restructuring after the loss by saying that the party seems to want to move farther to the left and that will ultimately alienate Americans. The only advice he could give was for them to "find that mainstream where most Americans are at and try to appeal to that."
"Republicans have gone through tough times as well... I wish them well but not too well," he finished, jokingly.
